Our Philosophy

At FUN-A-RAMA ST. Damien's, we aim to provide a warm and welcoming home away from home.

We wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians of the Land on which our service stands, the Binjareb people of the Bibbulmun Nation and their elders past and present. We acknowledge and respect the first people’s continuing cultures and the contributions they make to the life of this service and this region.

Children

  • To make each child feel safe, secure, and supported.
  • To support each child in understanding the importance of their rights.
  • We emphasise the importance of the natural environment and encourage sustainable practices in each child’s daily life.
  • We are inclusive of all ages and abilities.
  • We believe in supporting children to give them the opportunity to be different and express themselves through different resources and activities provided and to foster children’s development.

Families

  • To recognise the diverse cultures, backgrounds and beliefs of the children and families at our service.
  • We aim to develop positive relationships, based on mutual trust and open communication.
  • We provide flexibility to help suit the variety of families at our service.
  • We are consistently looking at ways we can support our families in different ways needed.

Community

  • We have important relationships with our local community which supports our ongoing programming and planning.
  • We encourage community involvement within our local Peel region with our incursions and excursions and family involvement.
  • Working closely with ST. Damien's Primary School allows us to form a strong alliance with the school, to support the children and families and following the values of being a Christ-centered and child-focused community of engaging learning environments.

Team

  • We provide a play-based curriculum based on each child’s individual needs and development (influenced by Kathy Walker and other key learning approaches).
  • Ongoing learning and reflection.
  • We receive on going Professional development to stay up to date with the latest learning and developmental techniques and tools.
  • We aim to use Educators strengths and passion to build and create an inclusive environment for all.
  • Create meaningful relationships

World of Kids Long Day Care Centre Information Parent Testimonial Review

FUN-A-RAMA provides a very important service to the community, enabling parents with young children to attend work outside of school hours. Having dealt with many different outside of school hours services, I can confidently comment that FUN-A-RAMA always go above and beyond to meet the needs of not only the children but family members alike. They make the booking/cancelling system flexible, and all information is communicated and easily available. My children love attending the service, engaging in the activities planned and the educators work with the diverse needs of my son to make his experience as positive as possible. I often recommend the service to other parents in the area.

I would like to thank FUN-A-RAMA for your ongoing support with before/after school care and holiday care for my daughter. Knowing that my daughter is in safe hands allows me to function at my best in my professional career. My daughter enjoys the range of activities that are provided to her including cooking, craft, and excursions during holiday care. She is always happy, feels well looked after and has made a lot a friends.

They provide a warm, friendly and caring environment and with each year they progress further to improve the children’s lives and families lives around them. This program provides valuable assistance with school holiday programs too and activities that my child enjoys. The life skills my son has learnt at FUN-A-RAMA is beyond comparable, he has friendships with other children that will be cherished for a lifetime; and the educators always lighten up his day and know his coping mechanisms and ways to best support him.
